Cutting
out f-cracks
Motivation and
relevant plots (by Marumi Kado and Robert Zitoun)
can be found on
slide 19 of this
presentation
Geometrically this
cut leaves out 20% of the Central Calorimeter (a tower size in f is » 0.1 and the crack width
cut out is 0.02) and needs to be
studied.
For the moment this
cut is included in current EMID certification.
Z/g*®ee
Cross-Section
Currently LO
cross-section from PYTHIA is used and a K-factor of 1.2 is applied.
Motivation for this
number can be found in D0Note
#3258 (bottom plot on page 27)
Initial
Run2 measurement of Z cross-section (by Marumi Kado and Robert Zitoun) became available recently and I
will try to use it instead.
Photon
HMatrix. Photon ID vs Electron ID
Currently any
Photon-specific EMID tools/variables are removed from the selection/ID cuts,
I rely entirely on
certified (calorimeter info only, electron based) EMID ,
i.e. no Photon
HMatrices, no track vetoes.

How EM fake rate was measured
EM fake rate was
measured using the sample selected with muon-triggers-only by Shaohua Fu.
The advantage of
using muon triggers only is ensuring that the sample is unbiased
(both EM-wise and
Jet-wise). The disadvantage is low statistics. More to come when I understand
this measurement better.
Why
expected number of Wg
events is small in comparison with gg
Still to be looked at.
