Higgs Production Cross Sections times Branching Ratios
Higgs Production Cross Sections times Branching Ratios
The following figure represents the Higgs production cross section
times branching ratio for the experimentally most accessible final
states.
Input
The following is taken as input:
- NLO Cross sections and Higgs branching ratios from
John
Conway's files: cross sections, branching
ratios 1, 2.
- k-Factors to NNLO/NNLL are taken from the cross sections that are used
for the D0/CDF combinations. For WH and ZH these are constant factors
(0.96 and 0.99, resp.), for gluon fusion a Higgs-mass dependent
k-factor has been derived (ignoring the 155 GeV point, which was
incorrectly copied from the original reference).
- W/Z branching ratios: Br(W→lν) = 0.108, Br(Z→ll) = 0.033658, Br(Z→νν) = 0.2 (PDG)
- The figures are for a single lepton flavour: to get the
corresponding numbers for the sum of electron and muon final states
(not including taus),
multiply the qq → WH → lνbb by two,
the qq → ZH → llbb result by two and the gg → H
→ WW → lνlν result by four. The qq → ZH → ννbb
numbers already account for the three neutrino flavours, because we cannot
distinguish those.
