Meeting Minutes Apr 04, 2002 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10:30 AM - 12:00 Noon Salle Des Heros Present: Stu Fuess, Lisa Chabalina, Linda Stutte, Geoff Savage, Andrei Mayorov, Pushpa Bhat, Harrison Prosper. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Release of t02.08.00 on d0ol: ----------------------------- All examines seem to be rebuilt and running ok. Cal_examine has had some problems and needed some effort. Xgooey did not work. So, cal shifters are using histoscope for now. There were discussions about the need of production release on the online machines for physics examine. Also, was discussed the fact that the production and test code releases have diverged. The production release has some new code that the latest test releases do not have. There is desire in the offline algorithms group to bring about convergence, but our guess is that this might take at least a couple of months. We thought it is necessary to convey our concerns about this issue in the offline computing & software meeting on Friday. read_event_daq: --------------- New read_event_daq allows selection of streams, triggers by name (I guess this was possible before) and also gets run number for each event. There were discussions about how one finds out what triggers/streams are available, etc. Andrei Mayorov is supposed to send around an annotated rcp. While discussing parameters in ReadEventDaq.rcp, someone mentioned that we may want to save the list of filters that were used in examine for a given run so that we know what conditions were used for a set of histograms. PhysExamine: ------------ Michiel gave an update on status of PhysExamine and Joel's latest work on supporting usage of macros through root_gui. PhysExamine works on the online machine from files. Michiel has to test it with read_event_daq. He expects to have it running the week of April 8. Joel has implemented TNetFileAccess and macro execution in the root_framework. It is in testing phase and will be released soon. Disk Areas on Online Machines Filling Up: ----------------------------------------- Stu said that a solution is in the works and hopes to get the disks reorganized so that each group will be using its own separate area and managing it. What would be the next test release for online? t02.12?
