smt_examine

> current instructions for shifters

The shifter's version of smt_examine is located
/online/examines/p12.00.00/smt_examine. The output goes into this
directory.

> - the exact syntax of the start_daq command

start_daq smt_examine

The shifter can type this command being in any dorectory. This commands
picks all streams. The stream selection is available in expert version
only.

> how does the shifter ensure that they get proper events

SMT group decided to take all streams

> - end of run instructions

At the end of run the shifter is expected to copy the cluster charge
plots into the log book and into some predefined directory

> - interpreting the histograms/results

The interpretation is simple - the shape of Landau peaks

> - other special instructions regarding your examine

We have detailed instructions linked to the SMT shifter's page in case a
shifter observes the problems.

cal_examine

Built using p13.06.00 Using histoscope for now Run ./cal_examine.sh from /online/examines/scripts Selection on stream or trigger made using ReadEventDaq rcp. We try to select data that has calorimeter in it for cal_elec (but only after receiving the event).

CFT/CPS/FPS/CTT examines

Currently: in CFT+PS+CTT group, we have five examines (cft, cps, fps, pdaq, ctt) all using release p13.06.00. Improvements to cft_examine were done about a month ago and here, we added a directory structure for shifter vs. expert-level histograms along with adding several new histograms to monitor the detector with and without cft calibration data. Other improvements were and continue to be in pdaq_examine in which we are now incorporating crate x13 and x14 information (CTT). Further, memory leak fixes were made to ctt_examine but that examine still shows some more memory leakage, which seem to be outside ctt_examine. Further investigation continues... Finally, shifters have improved documentation on reference histograms and should be able to spot abnormalities or misbehaviors sooner. Of course, improvements to this documenation is an ongoing process. Future: a) we like to incorporate alarms in our examines, b) consolidate cps and fps_examine as soon as additional manpower is available here, c) incorporate directory structure for histograms into cps and fps_examine d) upgrade to future releases as warranted online (p14?) and by our CFT+PS group, and e) additional level of histograms for experts in understanding system.

muo_examine

Built with p13.06.00; the trigger selection is coded in the ReadEventDaq.rcp. Now uses ExamineMgr.
