LOW X MEETING: NAFPLIO, GREECE, June 4-5-6-7 2003

Purpose and history
The aim of the workshop is to encourage experimentalists and theorists to discuss new results, hot topics and open problems in low x physics and diffraction at HERA, the Tevatron and beyond. It will also provide a forum for discussion of the opportunities at the LHC and RHIC.

The Low x Workshop grew out of the 1991/92 working group on HERA physics at DESY and has met almost every year since then: Saclay (1994), Cambridge (1995), Durham (1996), Madrid (1997), Berlin (1998), Tel Aviv (1999), Oxford (2000) and Kraków (2001), Antwerpen (2002).

Topics
  • DIS at small x and structure functions of the proton, photon and pomeron;
  • diffractive events and the problem of the pomeron;
  • diffractive Higgs production at the Tevatron and LHC;
  • diffraction at HERA vs. Tevatron;
  • investigation of hadronic final states;
  • photoproduction and DIS at low Q²;
  • vector meson production;
  • prospects in hard photon-photon physics;
  • other hot topics (open to suggestions).

Place
The workshop is being organised in the town of Nafplion situated in the Peloponnese region of Greece. The meetings will be held in a recently renovated building which was originally a mosque and subsequently served as the first parliament of Greece. It is located in the old part of town and a number of hotels situated within a 5-10 min. walking distance from it will accommodate us.
The registration fee is 270 euros, and 100 for accompanying persons which cover all lunches, the workshop dinner and the transfer by bus from and to Athens. You can find more information about registration here
