DIFFRACTION AT THE LHC:
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL, March 31 -
April 1 - 2 - 2004

The aim of the workshop is to encourage experimentalists and
theorists to discuss diffraction at the LHC in the Atlas in CMS experiments
and the installation of roman pot detectors or microstations for both
experiments. The meeting will also discuss in detail diffractive Higgs
production and how the HERA/Tevatron measurements will constrain the
predictions for the LHC.
It will also provide a forum for discussions about these topics.
- Results from the Tevatron / HERA experiments;
- Diffractive Higgs production at the LHC
- Roman pot detectors in Atlas and CMS
- Diffraction at HERA vs. Tevatron and factorisation breaking: how to
transfer from Tevatron to LHC;
- Investigation of chi_C production, double pomeron exchange at the LHC;
- other hot topics (open to suggestions).
The workshop is being organised in the town of Rio de Janeiro.
The meetings will be held at the Universite of Rio de Janeiro UERJ.
The registration fee is 180 dollars which will cover the coffee breaks,
the conference dinner.
