Production Model
We use the CMS Monte Carlo [ 1 , 2 ] which is a fast event generator combined with a parametric detector simulation, used in the published Run 1b analysis
of W mass using central W's only. We extend the applicability of this Monte Carlo program for the W mass measurement using forward W's.
The parton luminosities parameter beta is computed and used separately for two W topologies ( CC electron and EC electron) and the three Z topologies (CC-CC
,CC-EC,EC-EC). We use HERWIG and the MRSA' pdf to generate W -> e nu and
Z -< ee events and then fit the mass distribution in each category with the appropriate Breit-Wigner line shape skewed by the parton luminosity factor, where beta is a free parameter.
