There is another version of the Examine, which was designed for use by Level 2 experts, primarily for system debugging and commissioning. This Examine shows slightly more details in its plots, and it has the ability to select plots that correspond to a particular trigger bit. Link to the instructions here.
These plots are organized in the same way, but also by trigger bits.
As of today, the Examine fills the following plots for all triggers, for
Trigger Bit 18
and for Trigger Bit 22 (I expect that those numbers will be changed
frequently).
Global Object Histogram Description ------ --------- ----------- Electromagnetic Pt Plots are of electrons that passed Objects eta the L2 trigger and the specified phi L1 trigger bit. eta vs. phi isolation EM fraction Jets Pt Plots are of jets that passed eta the L2 trigger and the specified phi L1 trigger bit. eta vs. phi Muons Pt Plots are of muons that passed eta the L2 trigger and the specified phi L1 trigger bit. eta vs. phi quality sign Workers Object Histogram Description --------------- --------- --------------- Calorimeter Jets Et Plots are of jets that are input eta to L2. The jets passed the L1 phi trigger bit specified in the eta vs. phi examine. Calorimeter EM Et Plots are of electrons that are input Objects eta to L2. The electrons passed the L1 phi trigger bit specified in the eta vs. phi examine. isolation EM fraction Central Muons number per event central muons in events that passed specified L1 bit. pt the pt measurement of the central muons (spike at 0) eta ~symmetrical about 0, dip at zero phi ~6 spikes (Phi information sometimes gets lumped to the center of a pad.) eta vs. phi darker phi bands for the phi spikes Forward Muons number per event forward muons in events that passed specified L1 bit. pt the pt measurement of the forward muons (spike at 0) eta ~symmetrical about 0, dip at zero phi ~6 spikes (Phi information sometimes gets lumped to the center of a pad.) eta vs. phi darker phi bands for the phi spikes
There are some old reference plots for some experts' Examine plots. Linked here are plots from July of 2002 which show events that have been passed by Level 2's EM worker, and plots with events passed by the jet worker .
Past histogram files can also be found in the scratch area on d0ol38, /scratch/trigger_examine.p11.09/data/L2_TrigExpert.root.(date recorded), and viewed with root.
