This is the Examine that will be run by the Global Monitor shifter, in order to keep an eye on the system. The instructions for the GM shifter are available here.
The plots are organized into inputs to the Level 2 workers, and
those that passed the Level 2 global processor. Every event in the
Global plots have passed a Level 2 trigger, but there is no information
in the Examine as to which trigger was passed. The Worker plots have
events that have passed a Level 1 trigger (i.e., these events are
inputs to Level 2), but the events might have passed any Level 1 trigger,
or multiple triggers.

In order to make sure everything is running correctly, it will be necessary to compare current plots to standard plots. There are several such plots available on the web. Linked here are plots which show events that have passed the Level 2 jet trigger, and plots with events that passed the Level 2 EM object trigger.
If, for some reason, that link proves inadequate, root files containing past Examine histograms can be found on d0ol38 at /scratch/trigger_examine/data/L2_TrigEx.root.(date recorded), and can be viewed in root.
There is another version of the Examine, which was designed for use by Level 2 experts, primarily for system debugging and commissioning. This Examine shows slightly more details in its plots, and it has the ability to select plots that correspond to a particular trigger bit. Link to the instructions here.
These plots are organized in the same way, but also by trigger bits.
As of today, the Examine fills the following plots for Trigger Bit 18
and for Trigger Bit 22 (I expect that those numbers will be changed
frequently).
Global Object Histogram Description ------ --------- ----------- Electromagnetic Pt Plots are of electrons that passed Objects eta the L2 trigger specified in phi the expert examine itself. eta vs. phi isolation EM fraction Jets Pt Plots are of jets that passed eta the L2 trigger specified in phi the expert examine itself. eta vs. phi Muons Pt Plots are of muons that passed eta the L2 trigger specified in phi the expert examine itself. eta vs. phi quality sign Workers Object Histogram Description ------ --------- ----------- Calorimeter Jets Et Plots are of jets that are input eta to L2 (passed any L1 trigger), phi for those events that passed the eta vs. phi specified L2 trigger. Calorimeter EM Et Plots are of electrons that are input Objects eta to L2 (passed any L1 trigger), phi for those events that passed the eta vs. phi specified L2 trigger. isolation EM fraction Muons Plots are of muons that are input to L2 (passed any L1 trigger), for those events that passed that specified L2 trigger. number per event muons in all events that passed L1 (central and forward combined) Central Muons pt the pt measurement of the central muons (spike at 0) eta ~symmetrical, dip at zero phi ~6 spikes (Phi information sometimes gets lumped to the center of a pad.) eta vs. phi darker phi bands for the phi spikes Forward Muons pt the pt measurement of the forward muons (spike at 0) eta ~symmetrical, dip at zero phi ~6 spikes (Phi information sometimes gets lumped to the center of a pad.) eta vs. phi darker phi bands for the phi spikes
There are some reference plots for the experts' Examine, too. Linked here are plots which show events that have been passed by Level 2's EM worker, plots with events passed by the jet worker , and plots passed by the muon worker .
Past histogram files can also be found in the scratch area on d0ol38, /scratch/trigger_examine.p11.09/data/L2_TrigExpert.root.(date recorded), and viewed with root.
