Possible D0 Level 2 Trigger CPUs

VME Single Board Computers

D0 is considering a proposal to upgrade the Level 2 trigger boards, using commercially available
single board CPUs. Several vendors currently sell computers and i/o cards that could be used.

Available computers are:

  • Dual Pentium III from General Micro Systems

  • VQ750 Quad PowerPC G3/G4 from DNA Computing Solutions

    • Available i/o cards are:

  • PMC-FPGA01 a 64-bit, 66 MHz FPGA from TransTech DSP

  • QC64-PMC from Catalina Research

  • S-LINK cards equipment used in CERN's High Speed Interconnect project
